The Friends of Letters and Arts Association of Serres invited the “Yannis Mantakas” Choir, the Choral Workshop of the School of Music Studies, and the AUTh Symphony Orchestra to Serres for an anniversary concert in honor of the 100th anniversary of Mikis Theodorakis’ birth. The “Asteria” Municipal Theatre was filled with an enthusiastic audience who enjoyed the March of the Spirit set to the poetry of Angelos Sikelianos, as well as excerpts from Axion Esti with poetry by Odysseas Elytis. The orchestra was conducted by Vladimiros Symeonidis, with solo parts performed by Mela Gerofoti and Apostolos Sotiroudis.
