The festival’s main concert in Vienna took place in the historic Golden Hall of the Musikverein, where 1,000 choristers from around the world joined their voices to perform Franz Schubert’s iconic final Mass in E flat major. The conductor of the evening was Heinz Ferlesch. The concert opened with small musical “gifts,” as nine choirs – including our own – had the opportunity to present a short program of their choice. Remaining true to the centenary year marking 100 years since the birth of Manos Hadjidakis and Mikis Theodorakis, we performed “The Rose” and “With the star-lantern”, under the direction of our conductor, Erifili Damianou.
Program:
- Manos Hadjidakis (arrangement Costas Tsougras): The Rose
- Mikis Theodorakis (arrangement Panagis Barbatis): With the star-lantern
- Franz Schubert: Mass in E flat major D 950
