With deep emotion and pride, the “Yannis Mantakas” Choir took part in the concert held on Saturday, 20 September, at the Municipal Garden Theatre, as part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The event was organized by the Municipality of Thessaloniki, featuring the Municipal Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Haris Iliadis. The performance was further enriched by the outstanding interpretation of the evening’s soloist, our very own Kyriaki Kalaitzidou.
The event was honored by the presence of the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Mr. Vasilis Gakis, former Rector of AUTh, Professor Charalambos Feidas, and the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Extroversion, Lifelong Learning, and Student Welfare, Professor Iakovos Michailidis.
Commemorative plaques were presented to the participants by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a gesture of gratitude and recognition for their contribution to the anniversary celebration.
Special acknowledgment is due to our choir’s conductor, Erifili Damianou, for the dedication and artistic guidance she has consistently and inspiringly offered over the years.
At the piano, we were accompanied by Giorgos Ntafos.
